Disco Islam: How To Make A Cultural Investment In Middle East is a lecture-performance shaped in form of a ‘business pitch’ aimed at potential investors in a fictional nightclub project in Iran. It fuses the language of corporate advertising and the aesthetics of the business ‘pitch culture’ with the lecture-performance format to point out concerns related to the implementation of neo-liberal policies in Middle East and the manufacturing of a ‘capitalist realism’ in Iran.
Disco Islam: How To Make A Cultural Investment In Middle East was developed and realized as part of the Forecast Platform mentorship program and it was presented at the Forecast Forum 2019 at the Radiyalsystem in Berlin in July 2019.
