GHT.2058: Asylo-جنّت
INSTALLATION (2023)
GHT.2058: Asylo-جنّت was a site-specific immersive exhibition which submerged the viewer in a fictional near-future climate dystopia created by neoliberal negligence and greed. The show used various materials and media hinting at climate catastrophes, science fiction dystopias, marketing overhype and Islamic kitsch, in order to open a portal into a deeply neoliberal refugee centre from the year 2058, which housed Middle Eastern asylum seekers displaced due to a global failure in dealing with the climate crisis.
GHT.2058: Asylo-جنّت was commissioned by ‘a space’ arts as part of their Art for Climate Action Programme and it took place at the historic God’s House Tower in Southampton (UK) from June 24th to August 13th 2023. Click here for more information about this exhibition.
